Olivia Dean Long Beach Concert reviews
Rod Said He Had A Sinus Infection, Barely Hear Himself
My 3rd concert with Rod and by far the best. Poor guy, battling a nasal infection by his own disclosure, valiantly attempted to entertain but he was off pitch all night. He even mentioned he could hardly hear his own voice and I observed him continuously wipe the tip of his nose with his thumb and forefinger. At high elevation and a dry climate, Reno is harsh on singers that don't stay hydrated. I never witnessed him drink water, although he exited the stage a couple of times. He did not remain until the conclusion of the final number and did not perform an encore. I assume he was quite ill. Hopefully, he takes care of himself at age 76.
